Gradient testing on titanium and aluminum

Once again, I’m pulling out material for some testing. In a recent order, I got both titanium and anodized aluminum cards to play with. (The titanium is going to have to be very special occasion at its price.) All engraves were done at 1,000 zooms. Titanium with gradients. Left is Variable 0-Full with 225 LPI. Settings for engraving anodized aluminum?

Cannot cut aluminum with the Glowforge. I have good luck engraving anodized aluminum with 700/50/350, but you should test a small area since I don’t know how intricate your design is. I was engraving text. There are lots of posts about aluminum if you search the forum.

Lines Per Inch on Anodized Aluminum

Hi Guys, Quick question here; I just did a test engrave on some anodized aluminum dog tags by BallChain. My settings were 1,000 speed, full power, and 340 lines per inch. When I looked closely at the fully finished tag I noticed my graphic wasn’t as sharp as it looked from a distance. Does increasing the lines per inch fix this problem or is it something else that needs to be done. Thanks in advance. You guys are great.
