Engraving TUL Discbound Notebooks

Has anyone tried personalizing/engraving a leather discbound notebook cover like the Office Depot TUL brand notebooks?

They have the plain and the metallic-ish covers:

Hi. I have not lasered anything like this, but I did look at the links to what you’re wishing to use. It says ‘primary’ material is leather, which suggests to me that it might have a secondary material, as well. You would need to find out what that material is. Could be leather covered cardboard or something else. Anything containing vinyl would be a bad move…it can destroy your laser in record time as well as be very bad for your lungs. Also, it is recommended that only veg tanned leather works best in the Glowforge, though I know other types of tanned leather have been used with less negative effect. Best of luck and welcome to the forum.
