Every Detail on the inner most cuts!

Every detail on the inner most design must be cut, scored first. Some of us are standing the work-piece off the crumb-table to avoid wasting masks ( saves time and money). Inner detail first, ALWAYS, ten outer details. If there are multiple inner details nested the machine must work its way in sequence from inside to outside of design.

if this is important to your design then you could assign colors for inner vs outer and then put them in the the order you need.

Use line colors like @mark14 says.

Ps> it sounds like you’re making a feature request? GF staff doesn’t monitor the forum, especially this section - your can email support if you’d like them to know.

You may find GF’s standard for submissions to the Catalog helpful:

  1. Engrave: black
  2. Score: blue
  3. Inner cuts: green
  4. Outer cuts: red

If you need finer control, there’s been heaps of discussion about how to order operations, pretty much starting with this thread from 2017…

I’m confused… This is pretty much standard for all CNC operations, inner details should always be processed before any release (cut out) functions are processed. Limits frustration from misplaced actions and or focusing issues when the released part is now at a different height than at the beginning of the process.

Glowforge are not solution providers. Proof is in their inaction to improve their offering.

No stand alone software.
Poor calibration and job consistency.
Slow production ability
Little support or reaction from GF life long.
Designed to self-destruct by dragging ash over entire left side of machine.
Trotrec, OMTECH, Boss, all better cost effective platforms. Could have spent twice as mush and be five times ahead.

Glowforge makes hobby-grade lasers, albeit expensive, they’re still not commercial-grade machines. If your needs include sustained performance and high production output, you never should have looked at a Glowforge.
