Felt Air Fresheners

Hi!! Has anyone had an experience cutting air freshener felt like in the picture?
I normally shy away from cutting any material that I’m not 100% on but I’m really wanting to make sublimated air fresheners in specific shapes.
The material is just listed as felt

Not sure about that Amazon product but polyester felt from a fabric store cuts very easily.

Hey welcome, always great to see new people here!

Yeah it’s either synthetic or real felt, both of them cut well.

The only thing I wonder about is that it’s for an air freshener and unfortunately both types of felt don’t smell great after cutting. You may want to build in some time to let the smell go away before making them into air fresheners.

A bunch of felt threads here:

And about smell in particular:

Maybe @cheryl.mae.serdar can give us an update? How’d the smell abatement work out?

We just returned from a 2 week trip to Dubai so sorry I am now first getting a chance to respond.

YES, laser cutting 100% wool felt stinks to high heaven! But I think I finally found a solution that works on getting rid of the smell. It took trying countless things, including baking soda, letting it set out in the sun, waiting until order dissipated.

Here is what I found worked for me. After cutting the felt I take a wire brush and scrape off the char. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B094NHJL6Y/ref=redir_mobile_desktop? I then use The Laundress Wash and Stain Bar, https://www.amazon.com/Laundress-Vegetable-Essential-Laundry-Allergen-Free/dp/B001713KRG/ along with their bursh https://www.amazon.com/Laundress-Removes-Stains-Fabrics-Bristles/dp/B00AALMV5G/ to rub the stain remover along the cut edges. I put the felt in washing machine (hand wash cycle) and wash. After washing I reshape felt if necessary and let it air dry. This removes both the remaining burn marks and makes the wool felt smell good!
