Final days badge holder

It’s good fun when several maker things come together in one project.

the project consists of a pybadge I had lying around, a few feet of PETG printer filament, and a scrap of draftboard.

The pybadge is programmed to show working days left on the main screen and the neopixils act as an annunciator panel.

Wow! Days until retirement? Great fun project.

To be clear, it is showing working days as opposed to calendar days as of the two I consider working days more important. Calendar days is roughy twice that.

It’s going to be great fun to see what projects you come up with when you are retired! You’re going to have so much time to dream up new ones!

I really hope and intend to turn down that road! If anyone gets the feeling I’m watching TV and not staying busy you need to call me on it!

In the Navy, we never had anything this cool. Although, on our last day before transfer/retirement, one of our crew mates would take our boots and hat to muster and would proclaim that it was us, but we were that short. (short timer). We also had Short timer chains, and every day, you cut a link off.

Oooh. Great project and great countdown!

I never did the chain but sure did the boots and hat trick!
Now take the 4 or 6 you did in the Navy and stretch it out to what will be just short of 39 years on this job!

My daughter-in-law used to count down all things. I think it’s a spectacular idea!

Hey, no calling you out on anything from me! Retirement is about doing what you want. There have been days when all we’ve done is watch tv (doesn’t happen often, but we got hooked on watching a YouTube program about a couple who bought a 200 year old farm building in Ireland and did a binge watch to see all the episodes). And I have no doubt you’ll stay busy.

And that’s part of the reason we do LEGO as well - not only does it give us something to do together, but it’s good to keep our brains healthy.

I want there to be a flashy event when the counter reads 0!

I should be safely at home when the clock hits zero, but maybe I need to plan something for the day before.

Or the counter reversed and starts counting freedom days
