Finger Joints!

Proud of my first self-designed project! Made from 1/8" birch and stained with Golden Oak, this box is 3.5" x 3.5" and 5" tall. That’s my logo engraved on the front. Needed to glue the joints, but I’m okay with that. Happy to post the svg file if anyone is interested.

Looks good! You should be proud…my first self design finger joint box is laying around here somewhere…as scrap…waiting to be repurposed into something else because of how badly I messed up

Great start!

Snap together is nice but insecure. I glue joints unless specifically designed to come apart. I also use hand sanitizer to clean off soot and scorch before stain or sealer.

Now to engrave a design like those chairs…

This guy is talking CNC but Glowforge can do the same and better with variable power engrave. What he says about images works the same.

There’s something really satisfying about making your first project from scratch. It looks great! Congratulations, and keep the new projects coming.
