Funny!

Something my fellow GFers will most likely get….

I was helping my son replace the starter in his car last night…and as we were struggling to put the tubing (not sure of actual term for the part) back on, guess what it reminded me of? :joy:

(Once you have a laser, everything in life seems to remind you of it.)

Sadly I don’t think @rbtdanforth’s trick with the V8 bottle is going to work here!

What you do is measure the size of what you need and then take your calipers shopping. Liter soda bottles curve in towards the bottom so fit inside many shapes. V-8 has stuff in the shape that holds it round but if you have a bit of nichrome wire you can modify that plastic also. The small things of Folgers are also in a good range but are opaque.

Curious what everyone else thinks of…
but for me, I had flashbacks to when I first attached the tubing to my inline fan. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Ok, I need to find out what that is(?)

He found that a V8 bottle fits a 4" flange beautifully, so instead of the hose clamp you get this:

OMG that is awesome. Ingenuity & repurposing for the win! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I’m going to send this to my son as a joke ~ “Look at what we could have used to attach the tube!” :laughing:LOL

I have been using that for over 3 years I think. It holds on tight but comes on and off easily.

Very ingenious!

Too bad it is such a short run. These work great for exhaust hose in dust collection, dryer, glowforge, whatever.
