My nephew asked for a chess set for his birthday. When asked what kind. He said, “I don’t know… something with a Game of Thrones feeing to it”
The pieces are 3D resin printed. I got the files from Thingiverse - they are designed for the fictional in-world GoT game, Cyvasse. I simply appropriated them for chess. With no queen in Cyvasse, I substituted a dragon.
The board and storage was generated using the online “card box” generator. Still need to finish up some details, but I’m happy with the results so far.
Your nephew will likely be stunned. Even the details of the curves and trees on each square and the ivory and jade look, much less the knotwork that I am a sucker for anywhere
Thank you so much. Believe it or not, that was my very first attempt at painting figurines. I’ve been dying to paint more, but don’t want to ruin the pieces I already have. This was a good starting point, considering I could just print more if I messed up too bad.
I only used a base coat, a wash, and then some dry brushing.
