Love it! What would you use this kind of mechanism for?
Originally it was for watches (Swiss Watchmakers), it was also for movie projectors. Basically allows a continuous rotation into quick (locked) segmented rotation. I was looking for something and came across the formula on a another site.
I found one in use here on the forum.
