German Lichterbaum

One final project before Christmas. This Lichterbaum or “lighted tree” was inspired by a German scrollsaw artist I follow.

Happy Holidays, folks!

That’s so classic and beautiful! What kind of lighting did you use to achieve that effect?

Very festive! Do I see gold on the edges?

A string of 20 tiny LED fairy lights.

Believe it or not, it’s made from unfinished “GoofGrade” ply. The color is an artifact of the brightness temperature of the LEDs and the camera sensor (iPhone 11).

This is so pretty - did you embed the fairy lights in clear acrylic?

They are glued the the back piece with Klingon pain sticks.

Hahahaha! Oh dear. The way I knew exactly what you meant. They don’t melt the glue?
