Getting into the Glowforge Christmas spirit

This was my first attempt at using my glowforge on a sign for our house. I’m soo excited with how it turned out.

Cut the letters on 1/4 inch scrap pieces I had from another project, painted the board behind and made the frame. All made out of 1/4 inch wood so it is very light.

Up until now, I have been using my Glowforge to cut fabric for masks for the deaf and hard of hearing.

Excited to try another medium! Thinking etching / engraving may be next on the docket!

I used the file I had cut and printed it on paper. Then, I used a trick from art class and put pencil on the back of the sheets and traced the design. All that was left was to glue the wood letters. I know it’s a lot of work but I wanted to make sure I had the alignment down.
