Giant Scrabble Tiles

Baltic birch, 5.45” tall—for a wall display for my daughter. She doesn’t like the square ones she’s seen online, because real Scrabble tiles aren’t square. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Nice! I like the texture of that wood.

Those look great–we did a bunch as well, and rounded the corners. Seems to be a better choice for the bigger tiles.

Neat! The lettering came out nice and dark. Engraved then painted?

Cut them out, sanded & stained, masked, put them back in the GF and scored on the characters, removed the masking just from the characters and sponged on acrylic paint, then sprayed on 3 coats of lacquer.

(They hadn’t all been lacquered yet when I took the photo, hence the lack of much shine!)

Wow! That’s a lot of steps, but they look fantastic.

The kids just moved across country, so my daughter hadn’t put these up on the wall until now. She’s so excited over how it looks; makes my heart happy. I love being able to do things my kids appreciate!

They look great! How’d she hang them? Do they have a keyhole hanger on the back?

Wonderful!

No, she wanted to just use the stick-on fasteners, since they’re renting.
