I love the hammer! Speaking of thick… I’d like to engrave a walnut cheese plate for a gift. I’m a (very) newbie to this technology. May I ask the settings you used for the hammer?

I removed the tray, and the height was then 1/4" above the tray. I used proofgrade thick walnut plywood, Using a HD engrave. SD would have been adequate.
Thank you. But I must have misunderstood what you did for the hammer. It looks to be (from the picture) you engraved directly on the actual wooden (thick) handle, but you just responded that you used a prrofgeade wood sheet?
Proofgrade settings for Thick Walnut Plywood … but, yes, directly on the hammer handle. (BUT with it laying on a small riser in the base of the machine … that raised it to 1/4" above where the tray would normally be.)
