The Glowforge is a nice little tool to have around the home, allowing for the production of special gifts for family and friends.
For our babysitter who is going off to college this week, I engraved a piece of pine, and then inset letters cut out of draftboard and painted white.
For the birthday of the grandson of friends, who is a big fan of Lightning McQueen, I made a photo frame out of multiple layers of draftboard.
And for a friend who is soon to celebrate a big anniversary, I engraved a laser tile which I will incorporate into a box.
Each one of these gifts will be very unique to the recipients and will be worth much more to them than my nominal cost to make them.
