I haven’t tried this, but I really hope it’s true!

Please tag me when you post test results. Sounds very promising.

I’m also going to look for this…it would be worth the cost to just see if this works. I am though a bit skeptical…that is unless I’m looking at the wrong parts that are glued together (the photo is pretty bad in that regard)……this still looks like a mess to me.

I’ve used it before and did not notice it as being any different than any other CA glue. YMMV

worst case, i end up with another bottle of CA.

I was about to comment “if it’s CA glue, how can it be any different from CA glue?” but then I decided to fact check myself and went down the rabbit hole of learning that cyanoacrylates are a family of adhesives.

Most “super glue” and the like seem to be ethyl cyanoacrylate. And then there’s butyl cyanoacrylate for medical use. And alkoxyethyl cyanoacrylate is the low-vapor one that presumably they’re selling here. Also available as Loctite 403, Permabond 940, etc.

Who knew. Chemists, probably.

Definitely. lol (Regardless of whether they would be taken seriously in the current climate of the country.)

That’s super expensive even compared to Starbond. Like $50/oz.

I usually use either Starbond or generic CA. Starbond is good because I can get colors (black & dark brown) which are good for wood & epoxy projects but they only come in multi ounce bottles so I never use it all up even storing them in the fridge. I use generic ones in 3g tubes a lot because I use them & toss what’s left. Saves messing with trying to get the caps to seal well or trying to un-gunk them later when I need to use it again.

So, a quick and dirty test. It’s super thin. I accidentally flooded, even over flooded. The mark you see is on the back side where I left a CA finger smudge. Other than that, with the flood, it’s pretty clean.

instructions actually say to press together and squirt into the seams. Which I didn’t do. Probably because it has a viscosity closer to Weldon 4. I’ll do some more testing later, but these results felt pretty promising. I’ll try actually following directions tomorrow. for now it’s time to go find some acetate to clean up my fingers…

Yikes! Weldon 4 has always been a challenge for me, so we shall see. Mine should arrive tomorrow so I will likewise give a report
