Glue residue on acrylic

Hi - does anyone know of a good way to get rid of the glue residue left on acrylic pieces?

The best way is not to get it on, however, I found that the so-called nano ceramic car polish that claims to clean up your fogged headlight covers and polish the car may be worth the experiment.

What type of glue is it? I made a box and marred the lid with some Weld On and was able to polish it out and buff it up using a small bit of toothpaste on a fingertip. To my amazement and gratitude, it worked beautifully. Otherwise, I would have had to remake the entire lid.

Wood and acrylic box

I love the challenge of making boxes…but, prefer making them without finger joints. I wanted to make one for my son and his wife whom we will be visiting in Delaware in May. This is 4” high and 6” square made of PG med. cherry and PG thick black acrylic. Sort of like a box within a box, it’s two layers thick and is pretty hefty.
