Gweike 6 in 1

Anyone seen this yet? Anyone have $12,000 to drop on a Kickstarter?

No, but it looks like a couple hundred other people do…

Wow, that looks cool!

I was prepared to scoff and be like whatever Kickstarter lasers are universally bad…then I read the specs.

1.2kW fiber with a 130w CO2, ok that is interesting. A bunch of cash but 130w is tasty.

Seems similar to the xtool metal fab that was on kickstarter a few weeks back. Xtool lacks the CO2 laser.

I mean sort of similar? The Gweike machine is closer to a compact car than it is to a “desktop” machine.

Huge vs big.

I didn’t really look that closely at the xTool. Did it have handheld capability? I liked (hated?) the idea that you can use this one completely out of the machine.

Yes, the design appears to be built around a hand held tool that one can use for welding and cleaning or attach to the gantry for cnc driven cutting and engraving.

I would love to have something like this, but I don’t even give my GF Pro $5,000 worth of use. I can’t imagine ever getting $12k out of something.

The price is the sticking point. I would have to be able to either sell 10 x more stuff or the same stuff at 10x to make this work. I have followed the xtool offering and the price keeps going up. if one missed the kickstarted add $1k, next week they say they will add another $1k due to a pending price increase (methinks this is designed to push sales now).
