I wanted to thank @MyDogsThinkImCrazy for the help! Since I was having problems with my cutter’s connection, they offered to cut and them mail the piece to me.
I had created the files for the plain cut and the open work cut. But I only envisioned them as single layer, in an either/or situation. It was their idea to cut them in different colors and layer them. I forgot to take pictures on the cake itself, but the bride and groom were ecstatic over the way it turned out.
