I’ve printed 10 for my students. They came out great. Do you have a better photo of how the pieces fit together to hold the loom for presentation purposes? I see how they go together, but it doesn’t stay very well. I think I must be doing it wrongly. Thank you!
Hi!
@dethe , my daughter home schools and they are doing weaving this next semester. I want to make this for my 4 grands to use. She said she needs one with a 3.5" wide work space. Do you have other sizes or can you help me? Thanks!
Sorry, I didn’t see this when you posted. They don’t snap together firmly, but should slot together loosely and are held together by gravity when set up. I will try to get some better photos for the web site.
I designed the files to be extendable to different sizes, then never implemented that. When would your granddaughter need them by? I’ve been meaning to revisit this and add some more sizes, or a version where you can print a larger loom and one or two smaller looms are nested inside.
That is incredibly generous of you!
Thanks, but lets wait an make sure I actually do the thing.
Thank you for replying. As soon as possible. They start classes soon.
I’m moving my Glowforge, so I can’t test these right now, but I’ve modified the script so it generates small, medium, and large hand looms. The medium one is roughly equivalent to what it used to make. The large size should be large enough for your daughter’s project. If you don’t mind being a guinea pig, you can try out the in-progress version here: SVG Loom. I’d love to hear any feedback (good or bad) on the changes.
Kind regards,

I haven’t forgotten about adding a tutorial video. I will do that soon, covering the basics, and I will add one for the not-so-basics. I tried weaving a simple pattern rather than just straight rows, and I’m happy with how it came out, so talking about patterns could be worthwhile.
My friends are making a quilt for another friend’s palm st for me year old, and each of us are making a square for it. I have a stack of these hand looms and decided to weave my square. I had to weave three pieces and sew them onto backing for the quilt, but I think it turned out OK.
