I am trying to figure out if I can engrave dates on the outside of a wedding ring. Have you done it?
Engraving on metal with a laser is possible but not with the type of laser that Glowforge uses.
At best you can mark metals with a special type of ink that fuses to the metal, search for “Cermark” for more information.
Your second challenge will be the curvature of the ring and focal depth. Honestly I’d probably be looking for a pro service that specializes in this to do the engraving to your spec.

The Glowforge cannot engrave any metal. It can be used to mark metal, however.
