Help with PDF Logo :)

Hey Everyone!

I am testing out engraving some leather patches for someone. They sent me their logo in PDF which I assumed was fine. When I upload the PDF in the glowforge, the dead space does not show. This is probably a dumb question but how can I fix that? ill attach a picture of the PDF logo and then what it looks like in my glowforge! I did convert it to an SVG in illustrator but it didn’t make a difference unless i’m doing something wrong haha newbie here and i’m trying to learn! Thanks in advance

Rasterize the logo. (Quickest way.)

Select everything, Object > Rasterize. (High PPI, Transparent background)

Then you can save the SVG.

The less fast way: the negative spaces need to be knocked out (subtracted) from the black shapes. The fastest way in AI is with the ShapeBuilder tool. Select everything, select the tool and hold down alt while you click on the negative spots to subtract them.

Since you’re using Illustrator you can also skip SVG and copy/paste directly from AI to the GF dashboard
