Not sure why yours freezes. I can do everything including layout, up until sending a print to the cloud. Seems to be a standalone app except for receiving printer status. Of course you canāt get a bed image while itās calibrating and you canāt send info to the printer.

It seems like itās more about just readjusting your workflow for a new/different machine.
I remember working with an Epilog and I would get the file already and about to print, and then go over to the laser, turn on the air and turn on the power and adjust the table height. Because this didnāt take long, I didnāt do it prior to getting the cut file ready.
With the GF it sounds like one would turn this on first, like you, and then get your print ready.
Perhaps itās re-adjusting your typical work-flow to adapt to the new machine.
