How do I merge words and shapes

I would like to learn how to create this using Adobe illustrator … I can’t seem to find a video on YouTube all I see is Cricut . It’s probably 2 clicks of a button but I’m still learning :blush:
Help … thank you

I don’t use illustrator but google says

Highlight both items, use windows bars> pathfinder> then unite tool in pathfinder

You can use either the Pathfinder or Shapebuilder tools (turn your text to outlines first!)
