Good information, but I am hoping that the Glowforge will take care of that with the auto focus.

I wouldn’t count on the auto focus to measure the thickness accurately. when was the last time you saw a 2x4 or piece of plywood that was perfectly strait or flat? haha

That being said. i cut warped or lightly bent plywood all the time and its rarely enough deflection to change my cut setting, be definitely noticeable. I just wouldn’t expect the auto focus to be able to tell the difference between a warped piece and variably thick piece of wood.
