How to Fail at Laser Cutting

Published earlier today on Hackaday:

Two points that I heartily agree with:

  1. You can never have too much material
  2. Never, under any circumstances, walk away from an operating laser!

Great article, thanks for passing it along! I’ve bookmarked it so that I can periodically go back to it to remind me of what I shouldn’t be doing. Thankfully, some of these guidelines don’t apply to Glowforges. (Like failure to focus, zero, and failure to add masking.)

My pleasure.

It’s true that the focus and (for the most part) zeroing will be automagic on the GF, many of us won’t be using the GF-branded materials, so remembering to add masking will remain an important step.
