I’m currently trying to source bamboo sheets to make lapel pins. I am considering getting unfinished bamboo. (Any one know a Canadian supplier?)
If I get unfinished, what is the best way to finish? I read mineral oil will bring out the best colour but do I also have to seal it? If so, what is best way?
If you don’t seal the surface, it will go matte over time. I suggest a simple polyurethane. You can get a wipe-on version that will give a good seal and finish without being overly thick.
As far as the best way; you will need to try different things for your specific application to see what you like the best.
