I’m mostly cutting Baltic Birch ply and acrylic. A little bit of the Proofgrade plywoods, some leather. Added the external fan entirely for noise reduction reasons and I used the compact filter for a year before moving to a spot with the window.
Thank you again. I ordered some Baltic birch and my glowforge is set to arrive Wednesday. Very excited. I will most likely move to the external fan pretty quick due to the noise as well.

You’re going to have so much fun with it!
You won’t regret having the capability, but you probably will regret not having it. All you have to do is semi regular maintenance. And the Plus also has the fan.
