The optical system in your Glowforge gets perfectly calibrated at the factory by technicians using state-of-the-art optical equipment. It’s then locked in place, and never requires adjustment.

We’ve seen plenty of people with misaligned lasers getting poor left-to-right performance, which can be caused by misalignment. Wonder why this was abandoned?

I have a hunch, but don’t want to come across as being critical. I think it might simply be the fact that if it was triggered, machines under warranty would require the company to be on the hook for the prohibitive shipping expenses.

The left to right issue is with the mirror under the left edge, not the laser.

Not seeing anything in that quote indicates the company would be paying for shipping…

Yup, but nowhere in there do they say anything about being under warranty.
