OH! Swatches definitely complicate things - GF doesn’t understand those at all. Yeah, as you’ve already on track - everything for laser cutting needs to be completely expanded for vectors (cut, score or engrave) or simplified to a raster (engrave only). If you hit ctrl+y you’ll get outline view which will show you exactly what vectors GF sees.
