I need some assistance on how to clean up this image. It’s a high res png file and has engraved fine on several things, but not so far in these brass plates.
Care to share the logo you’re playing with? That would help folks to help you.
The PNG looks like it was made from something that had a background that left a lot of artifacts.
Sure thing!
I did take the plastic off because after I did a test run because it seemed to be burning the plastic into the design…
“high res”… the image you uploaded is only 159x204 px. That’s pretty low res unless you’re trying to render it at about 0.5" - 0.75" wide. Is that what you’re doing?
Crap. Now I feel like an idiot. Let me look for another one. That was downloaded off the National FFA website and labeled as high res…
You should be able to go directly to ffa.org and download a vector (AI, PDF, EPS) directly. You will have to register but that shouldn’t be a big deal.

The PDF should go right in the Glowforge app.
Getting a fresh copy from FFA is the way to go – the graphic in the PNG started life as a JPEG or other “lossy” format.
