In case anyone is looking for an opportunity to make something special for a charity auction

Penny Arcade is an online comic for gamers, if you’re not familiar. They’ve been running the “Child’s Play” auction to benefit Children’s Hospitals for decades and they put out a call for auction items today.

The auction will not be happening until November but I wanted to plant the idea that if you would like to make something for the auction, now is probably a great time to start. People love bidding on hand made one of a kind items and I know that our community is full of incredibly talented individuals. Over the years I have seen beautiful quilts, dolls, carvings, jewelry, clothing, paintings, and other crafted items related to games and gaming go for super high prices during the course of the evening.

Thanks for flagging that. I’m not sure how it would work if it’s a copyright thing for an auction, but will definitely look into this, if my time permits. Appreciate the heads up.

Ah, interesting! Thanks for sharing this. I will look into this and give this some thought.

I’m a sucker for anything that benefits Children’s Hospitals, given our (what feels like) frequent flyer status.
