Is nail polish safe to laser?

I do a lot of etching on sterling silver. I generally user a toner transfer method to mask my silver, but I know that nail polish holds up well to the etchant. Has anyone tried to mask with nail polish and use the laser to reveal the metal for etching?

Your best bet is to get a SDS (MSDS) for the nail polish and see what, if any, deleterious effects and out-gassing are there are from heat or flame.
