I've been having fun learning

It’s been a few days since I got my Glowforge and i have been learning how to use it and learning Inkscape. Made a few mistakes, wasted some wood, but overall it’s been a lot of fun.laser%20projects%201

It IS loads of fun, isn’t it. Material ‘wasted’ is really not wasted at all if you’re learning and having some fun at the same time.

Really nice body of work, so many disciplines in use…

Thank you! I have a K40 laser and have done some neat things, but this Glowforge is LIGHTYEARS ahead of that one!

Wonderful to see how productive you can be with the Glowforge in such a short time. Your trainer laser time paid off!

I see what you did there
It is an amazing body of work!

There are several of us K40 folk who know that what people whine about in dealing with their Glowforge is beyond first-world in terms of problems. Without knowing what passes for home or hobby lasers the new-to-lasers folk have no idea how good things are even in the darkest GF days.

I feel like my father speechifying about “in his day…” when listening to someone complain that they only have 19.5" of width or that they need to clean the thing before 40 hours of use or that there’s no 40 hour counter reminding them to clean it…

Exactly this, keep on learning and having fun doing so!

So great! Love seeing people having fun!

Heh heh. You got that right. Reminds me of the retirement speech of a fellow scientist. He said back in his day they had to make dry ice by compressing CO2 in their BARE HANDS!

To the OP: pretty incredible output! I’d say you are a natural.
