Japan picture frame for our vacation

All draftboard (except the acrylic over the pictures). Each layer is fit together with dovetail connections behind the layer in front of it. The pictures are magnetized to the piece on the back so we can change the pictures.

Looks great, nice work! The cherry blossoms came out beautifully. I’m guessing the deer pic is either Nara or Miyajima Island?

The colors are really good, did you paint it? The color variations in the flowers is super cool, like before I take the masking off the draftboard and it’s super pretty, then I get super disappointed when I peel off the masking because it’s plain.

The cherry blossoms were just engraved. I did take the masking off before engraving, which allows the burn marks to add to the coloration. The country pieces were stained with a grey stain. I spray painted the frames and the blue title background.

It’s super impressive! I love Japan, we were road tripping through Nara, Tokyo, and Kyoto last year and from Miyazaki to osaka and back a couple years ago. I had a job offer and we were supposed to move to Japan in September, but because of the virus and uncertainty here until September, I had to turn it down. We can’t even visit this year since they aren’t allowing visitors right now and we don’t have enough vacation days for the two weeks of quarantine. :sob::sob:

Great job though, so nice!

WOW! This is a beautiful piece of wall art. Are all pieces assembled together or are they hung seperatly?
