I own (and daily driven it for 6 years!) a Lotus Exige. Once the chargecooler broke off but it kept on running. Once I manage to melt the transmission cables together blasting through the Italian mountains on a hot summer day but it kept on running. It houses a toyota engine. Unbreakable.
We bought a Toyota Landcruiser (Troopy!) to travel from Alexandria to Capetown (continent of Africa, north to south) One flat tyre and twice did the exhaust mount break off. Nothing that couldn’t be fixed next to the road.

My first car was a MINI cooper R53. Also BMW. Same love/ hate relationship. On the one hand I loved tracking it and the supercharger whine was very addictive. On the other hand having to deal with BMW and there ever failing parts…
