Kindling Box Fun with the Noun Project

I had a pretty basic box to throw unusable bits of scrap wood into for use as kindling. I wanted to make it a bit more fun but I am absolute crap at drawing.

And then I realized the solution is the same thing I use for building software when I can’t draw: Grab some SVGs from The Noun Project. They’re free for personal use or very cheap for a license.

I even left wee tiny cc-by acknowledgements on the engrave, but it came out super well:

(Yes those are upside down as the finish is drying)

Great resource for easy-to-Glowforge iconography if you’re not familiar with it.

Very fancy kindling box.
As someone that cannot draw, I was (am) a fan of the noun project until Glowforge made most of their graphics available in the interface via the premium subscription. Makes projects quick and easy for sure.

This kindling catcher turned out great! Really classes up the joint better than a carboard box :heart_eyes_cat:

Haha I was using some leftover Whole Foods bags so yes, major upgrade.

The pictures on the sides are great. Very creative.

Ahhh, so I’m not the only one who piles up their scrap wood for kindling
