Laptop stand!

Decided to make a stand to hold my (Glowforge etched) laptop vertically on my desk.

It’s proofgrade walnut in two pieces: A flat base and a second piece with two “rails” with living hinges.

Of course the wood alone is too light to support the weight of the laptop so I bought a heavy bar of copper from McMaster-Carr to sit on top of the base. Gives it a nice steampunk look.

That one hinge looks a lil’ stressed. Seems weird that it’s not spreading that tension out a bit more to the rest of the hinge.

Cool stand and etch job for sure.

Yeah I bent it a little too aggressively. The others are holding up fine :slight_smile:
