Can blue foam insulation be engraved, engraved safely?

That’s a bit vague, you’ll have to find an MSDS for the specific product you have in mind to know.

MSDS = Material Safety Data Sheet. Among other information it will list the combustion by-products.
Anything with chlorine in it is to be avoided.
The MSDS can usually be found at the manufacturers website.

Its a common material used in diorama creation. its a dense styrofoam. Was just looking to see if there is anyone who has experience with it.

What is important to determine is if it is safe. Lasering the wrong material will destroy your machine and your health.

It’s called an SDS now so looking in a manufacturer’s website for the MSDS might result in a false negative. Worth looking for both terms.
