Laser Tile engrave for gifting

After a long hiatus, I’m back posting on the board and back making things on my GF. Here’s an image I purchased from Shutterstock, taken into Inkscape for text and cut border addition so that I can cut out a jig in some cardboard and have my image and text centered exactly where I want on the tile. I don’t have SnapMarks so this process works a treat.

This is a 6"x6" Laser Tile. After engraving, I sprayed a coat of Mod Podge gloss acrylic coating on the tile. This one is for my son and his family, and I’m also making a batch of these for several friends and neighbors, all with different names of course. :grinning:

Is this special tile? Or did you spray it with something to make it black when you engraved?
