Leather leaves for glass pumpkins and earrings

I haven’t posted for almost a year! Where does the time go?! I’ll be posting some projects I’ve done in the last 10 months.

A friend requested a design for leather pumpkin leaves to use with copper wire to adorn her glass pumpkins (among many things, she’s a talented glass blower)

I used a photo for reference, hand traced the leaf using the pen tool in Adobe Illustrator, (modified as needed) … cut them out of my OG 2018 Medium Leather  …. And then hand painted them.

I used Tandy Leather Eco Flo in tan, Alumilite alcohol dyes in green and brown, and Marabu alcohol ink color shifting glitter in bronze / gold / green.

Next up will be oak leaves, maybe holly and maple.

That is so neat. I really like how you posted the pic with the leaf trace. That carries the idea well. One of my first Glowforge projects was using a ginko leaf I traced. Endless font of art and design there!

What a great idea, and I am really hoping to see them applied to the pumpkin!
