LED Lantern for Mother's Day

I just wanted to follow up with a hearty Thank You! for sharing this design with the community. I ended up cutting one for my lovely wife, and my son programmed his own light sequence into the Arduino.

We ended up using an Adafruit Trinket (5-Volt version) as the controller. I wound the LED strip into the frame before I cut it to length, leaving a few extra LEDs at each end. It ended up being a strip of 89 Neopixels. We skipped the cap-sense feature, but we may add a pushbutton on the underside of the lantern for pattern selection.

It was a great project for the two of us to collaborate on, and she loves it!

When I get a chance to snap some, I will post pictures of our build.

That’s great! I’m glad you got some use out of it, and I’d love to see the final product!

The coding is nearly complete. He had a lot of fun learning how to transition between colors. (The top is not fully attached in these pictures.)

The lamp looks great in any color scheme. Thanks again for sharing!
