So, we made three “leopard skin” guitars (two telecasters and one les paul jr) for Tracii Guns of LA Guns. they’ll be taken on their next tour starting next week, played live on stage, and then sold as “stage played” guitars (along with a personal meet and greet with Tracii). “leopard skin” because that’s the album name for LA Guns’ new album. they all have the same overall pattern on them, but each has a slightly different section (with some overlap) and with some rotation/flip to make them all similar, but slightly different.
Tracii received them today, seems to like the Tele, here’s his instagram video playing it.
I’ve wondered if there were any special steps you needed to make a guitar or ukulele. Does it just have to be the correct “flat” shape? or do the insides need anything special to sound right?
are you talking about acoustic guitar and ukulele? acoustics are more difficult structurally than electrics, but then are much simpler with electronics (if they even have any). the structure can make a big difference in sound.
