Once I figured out that PG veneer isn’t garbage once you cover it with craft paint, I’m actually enjoying making some wooden stickers and magnets.
Just finished this one up. Debating on making it a magnet or not lol

I love the veneer for veneering things - but I haven’t tried making anything out of it as the main material. This is lovely 
Do you paint through the masking, or paint and wipe?

Engraved, smeared black craft / acrylic paint on it, let dry and peeled off the masking. Actually works pretty well

You’ve had trouble with the veneer? I got a really nice two-tone look from it when I made my iPad cover, and that was before I really even knew what I was doing, just lucked into it. I wonder if something has changed with it in the years since.

I’ve never had good luck engraving veneer. It’s never dark enough for me lol. However, I don’t mind it now after trying the paint trick. Works great.
