Lid hinge

What adhesive did you use, specifically?

And, I am not being critical, but WD40 is designed to draw in moisture and evaporate it away. So any particulates in the air will be draw in to any surface it’s sitting on.

Any other simple oil or lubricant that does not evaporate should be a better long-term solution. But, on the other hand, I never did anything to the hinges on my first machine.

I used JBweld, steel reinforced, only because that was immediately available. I’d used the clear version on the right hand hinge, and that has worked for 18 months so far.

I now have PC-7 on the shelf for the future(it seems to be top of most people’s list) !
I take your point re the WD40, but again, it was on the shelf, so I tried it.

I’ve never actually used it but, yeah, I hear nothing but good things.

A goood friend of mine started an adhesive company a while back, and talked a lot about how the various types get manufactured and packaged. A lot of consumer stuff is “leftover” or “seconds” from commercial aplications, so they are very inconsistent, which is why he founded that company. To provide consistent, quality stuff. It as a little more expensive but absolutely worth it.
