Please note the only part of this project cut on the Glowforge was the acrylic faces, but thought a few of you might be interested. I created a few lightboxes over the past few days and thought I’d share my process and results. I used Fusion 360 to create a parametric lightbox so I can create different dimension lightboxes easily. I 3D printed about 5 different sizes so far with different aspect ratios on 2 different Bambu 3D printers. Since I am running low on white ink for the eufymake E1, I opted to print on laser cut milky white acrylic which acts as a fantastic diffusion layer versus clear acrylic. I bought and used 3’ LED strips with a USB plug as the light source off Amazon. As far as basic cost for example, the 8x8 square lightbox ran about $13 in ink, filament, acrylic, and the LED strip, and takes about 11 hours to 3Dprint.
Awesome. I really like how these came out. I’ll be doing some of these too whenever the E1 gets here, especially if my wife sees these ![]()
So the panel goes into a closed, printed box? I’m assuming that so you don’t get light leak from the back, but then I see in one photo the reflection of the LED on the tiles behind the lightbox.
Very nice. Thanks for helping me geek out over the pretty boxes too!
I don’t need a Eufy printer, but wow those are pretty!
Those turned out great! And the reflection off the table really adds to the effect. Thanks for showing us!
These are spectacular!! Really gorgeous!
I keep telling myself that, but then I see amazing projects like this.
Phenomenal work!!!
These turned out great! What a great solution to contain costs for the lightboxes. I can’t wait to get mine, still delayed for who knows how long. I especially love the one of the walkway with grass into the clouds. Did you have to put down a white layer at all since the acrylic was white?
Yes, for most of these I did one layer of white and two layers of CMYK. I think most people would use clear acrylic, and then have to use multiple layers of white. Acts as a great diffusion layer by itself for the same cost while being able to save on white ink which is unfortunately not available. I think I probably only have a few prints left before I’m totally out and have to wait like everybody else.
That’s a great tip! Thanks for sharing and glad to see it’s working for you. So many negative comments on fb!
It all about understanding how a kickstarter project actually works and to be patient. It’s worth the wait IMHO. People just love to complain and shout on the internet, which definitely doesn’t get them their printers any faster.
Still patiently waiting for mine. I’ve gone as far as making a script to check the order status so I don’t have to keep going to the web site. (GitHub - masto/eufy-checker: Check if EufyMake has shipped yet)
The eufy make sounds interesting…that might be next.
Great idea!
They are so vibrant! I’m glad to see how well the light is diffused—I would have expected to see more light concentration where the wiring is.
There’s kinda no point in checking the shipping status when they’ve said sraight out that they don’t bother updating the shipping statuses with any regularity. For example, my status still shows nothing’s been delivered to me even though I got my laminator and a ton of printable materials months ago. LOL

Mine accurately reflects the items I’ve received. And I’m still going to check it anyway.
