I finally decided to cut a piece of Zebrawood with the Lion design and as I polished it down to 2000 grit sandpaper and added furniture oil, the back lit up like a piece of tigereye. The material is a bit brittle but very hard and looks amazing with a super high polish. I am really annoyed at how easily it can set a coal and burn up, but that tendency makes one think it is a softer wood than it is.
How such a flammable wood can resist both laser and jewelers saw is a bit of a quandary but it does so.
