Lithophane nightlight test run in Corian

I wanted to make a keepsake of our dog that passed last week. I have done back lit lithophanes on my CNC but wanted to see if I could do it in the Glowforge. I used 1/4 inch Corian. It took multiple passes, but came out nicely. Next time I will mill the Corian to 1/8” due to the low wattage light source.

Awww, sorry about your pup. Your nightlight came out great! I tried a lithophane out of 1/4” Corian and wasn’t at all happy with the results. It seemed like there were too many large grains left behind that wouldn’t engrave. Yours came out much better. I wonder if there is a variation in composition of this stuff?

Try a material called candle stone. Brighter white, man made from acrylic. I use on my CNC all the time. Just do a search for candlestone.
