I wanted to make a keepsake of our dog that passed last week. I have done back lit lithophanes on my CNC but wanted to see if I could do it in the Glowforge. I used 1/4 inch Corian. It took multiple passes, but came out nicely. Next time I will mill the Corian to 1/8” due to the low wattage light source.
That looks lovely! So sorry about your loss.
Sorry for you loss… The nightlight looks great. Hope it makes you smile when you see it!
Awww, sorry about your pup. Your nightlight came out great! I tried a lithophane out of 1/4” Corian and wasn’t at all happy with the results. It seemed like there were too many large grains left behind that wouldn’t engrave. Yours came out much better. I wonder if there is a variation in composition of this stuff?
Genuinely sorry for your loss. This is a lovely tribute. I keep seeing cool light up projects like this, so creative!
Try a material called candle stone. Brighter white, man made from acrylic. I use on my CNC all the time. Just do a search for candlestone.
Beautiful result, and I’m sorry about your pup too.
Sorry about your loss …You made a beautiful remembrance thou.
I’m so sorry for your loss. Very difficult! Your engraving looks great lit.
