Looking for someone to deep clean and fix my Glowforge in Orange County, CA

Hello, I have two Glowforge printers and would love to have someone very knowledgeable to come deep clean my printers. I also have one that needs a new wheel put on and I prefer to have someone do it for me. I do not want to pack up my Glowforge and send it back to the manufacturer for something that is an easy fix.

So-called “deep cleaning” is NOT required or recommended. Nowhere in the Glowforge maintenance instructions will you find such a thing. It is probably the cause of the majority of machine failures.

Clean the optics and rails as prescribed. If truly necessary, the exhaust and air-assist fans. That is is.

I do A LOT of acrylic printing and my Glowforge is full of dust. That’s all I need and a fix of my wheel.I do clean the optics but I am super busy and would like someone to come take the time to clean the fans and the board. it’s not a major overhaul. I’m just busy and prefer not to do this.

Dust doesn’t harm the machine. I never had to “deep clean” my first one in the 5 years or more (I was one of the “founders”) it lasted.

But you are free to spend your money how you like, and also risk damage to the machine. My dirty old thing still printed perfectly until the tube failed.

Welcome to the community.

I will agree 100% with @eflyguy. I am also one of the founders and had my original Glowforge for nearly 8 years before I finally had to replace it. I also never had to do any major cleaning other than that recommended by Glowforge. You don’t say what models you own, but the cleaning instructions for all of them are fairly simple and straightforward.
I also agree that are many posts about problems that have been caused by ‘deep cleaning’…and I would certainly advise against it.
"clean the fans and the board. "…I understand about the fans…but, what exactly are you referring to when you say ‘the board’?
It would never even be considered that you would send your GF back to have those simple things addressed.
Wishing you good luck in finding help with that.

Another founder here to say: DON’T DO IT!!! I can’t even count how many help requests we’ve seen over the years that start out, “I just deep cleaned my machine and now…” If the dust bothers you, blow it out with compressed air. It doesn’t hurt your machine for it to be there. Anyone who professes to be an expert and agrees to do a “deep clean” is NOT an expert. Clean the optics. Wipe the rails. Honestly if you’re working primarily with acrylic you probably don’t need to do much else.
