When I last cleaned my MBP, I noticed some dust inside the ports for USB, Thunderbolt, SD Card, USB and ear-piece.
I cut these simple inserts from dense 5mm craft foam to keep dust out going forward. You could use the more common thinner sizes as well, but the 5mm only pushes in far enough to be easy to pick out with a fingernail if a port is needed. I rarely use them, but mostly USB and SD every couple of months or so.
File is below , right-click and save. You may have to adjust sizes in the UI depending on your material and settings.
