Needed a magazine holder. Was going to make a nice one out of finished plywood, but decided to do a quick cardboard version.
simple but effective. ![]()
This right here is why I save my best cardboard. Good work on a straight forward practical make.
Reinforcing the edges with tape is a great idea. And helps deal with any char.
Hmm so wait @ptodd did you tape then cut?
If so that’s an interesting idea. I assumed you taped post-cut and kind of wrapped the tape around to reinforce the edges.
I taped after hot gluing together to protect the edges. It does help with the char also, even though I wiped it down as well.
Gotta love a cardboard project
Classic lasering! Nicely done!
Great practical cut. Where’d you find the design? I need to make some to hold all our LEGO kit books.
Nice design! Wizard of Oz!
Love a good practical cut!!
We save the big ones (pretty much all we build now) but I wonder why. It’s not like we ever disassemble them and with the light kits added, it’s even less likely. As the books like up I wonder if we should just toss them so we don’t slide into hoarderville.
I save them because we have started talking about dissembling some kits (literally running out of room to keep them all displayed), or if our kids get them, they’ll have them if they decide to keep/sell the kits. Also, we’re doing the Sherlock Holmes book nook right now, and there are little stories in the book that aren’t on the digital instructions. I’ve thought about going through each book and just typing up the little stories to keep in a binder or on the computer so I don’t have to flip through the books or open the app.
We’re still undecided about the boxes, which at least we’re now flattening them instead of keeping them just opened (even though we were stuffing larger boxes with smaller ones). Those will be kept in totes.
I used a counter display to my dimensions from ✂Templatemaker ︎
Ended up slicing one side off and adding an edge to attach to the other side.
I’ve used their site for paper projects for years. It’s a great site!
The Wizard of Oz is to fill the box so the magazines don’t slump. ![]()
I’m always forgetting about this sight so thanx for the bump.
I wonder if there is some inventive way to build in something to keep things from falling over. (I have not googled this lol)
After 6 more magazines, the problem will be solved! ![]()
Of course! haha
I have that site bookmarked, but always forget about it! Thanks!
